    Dr. Sanjay Kumar is a skilled, double board-certified physician specializing in internal medicine and nephrology at Carolina Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina.     Dr. Kumar graduated from medical school in India before emigrating to the United States to complete his education for internal medicine at Jersey City Medical Center and Interfaith Medical Center in the New York-New Jersey area. He then completed a fellowship in nephrology at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn.

    Dr. Kumar forms close ties with his patients at Carolina Medical Center and is known for his attentive, individualized application. He takes great pride in treating each patient as if they were his only patient. When it comes to serving the members of his local community with high-quality health care, Dr. Kumar is second to none.

  • Dr. Michael Blubaugh

    Dr. Michael Blubaugh is an experienced, board-certified doctor who has served patients from Colleton County at the offices of Carolina Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina since 1999. He specializes in all facets of internal medicine and has developed close personal relationships with countless patients.

    Dr. Blubaugh attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed his residency training at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

    Now, as a practicing health professional, Dr. Blubaugh enjoys treating various conditions as an internal medicine physician. He regularly provides treatment for patients suffering from opioid addiction with medication-assisted treatment programs. Outside the walls of Carolina Medical Center, he served as medical director for many local nursing homes from 2001 to 2015.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar began providing high-quality medical care in nephrology and internal medicine in 1993 when he relocated to the Lowcountry from New York. After maintaining a solo practice for six years, Dr. Kumar welcomed Dr. Michael Blubaugh, a board-certified internist, to the team in 1998. This expansion allowed Carolina Medical Center to offer medical care in Colleton County, Allendale-Fairfax County, and Hampton County.

In collaboration with LabCorp, Carolina Medical Center also has a convenient, in-house lab for diagnostic testing.
