About Practice
The dedicated physicians and nurse practitioners of Carolina Medical Center provide primary care and nephrology services to the families of Walterboro, South Carolina. Dr. Sanjay Kumar began providing high-quality medical care in nephrology and internal medicine in 1993 when he relocated to the Lowcountry from New York. After maintaining a solo practice for six years, Dr. Kumar welcomed Dr. Michael Blubaugh, a board-certified internist, to the team in 1998. This allowed Carolina Medical Center to offer medical care in Colleton County as well as Allendale-Fairfax County, and Hampton County. Then in 2012 they also welcomed Acute Care Nurse Practioner Mrs. Meredith HIpp to the practice.
In collaboration with LabCorp, Carolina Medical Center has a convenient, in-house lab for diagnostic testing. Dr. Kumar and Dr. Blubaugh can even attend to their patients at Colleton Medical Center.
